Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Ata, has urged Nigerian youths to take full advantage of the Renewed Hope Housing Project initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a golden opportunity to become homeowners.
He made the appeal during a courtesy visit by the North West Youth Forum, emphasizing that the housing scheme is not just about buildings but a comprehensive socio-economic intervention aimed at reducing housing deficits and empowering vulnerable groups, especially young Nigerians.

“The Renewed Hope Housing Project, launched in 2023, is designed to provide affordable home ownership, create jobs, and boost local economies,” the Minister said.
According to him, the project targets low- and middle-income earners—including young professionals, artisans, and those in the informal sector—offering flexible mortgage plans and rent-to-own options.
He noted that housing units are currently under construction across all 36 states and the FCT, and interested youths can apply via the project’s online portal: www.fmhud.gov.ng.
“The platform is open and transparent. Apply now and encourage other young people to do the same. We must shift from complaints on social media to real action. Our generation must build, own, and lead,” he said.
Minister Ata also disclosed plans to partner with the Ministry of Youth to enhance awareness and ensure wider access to the scheme.
“The synergy between both ministries will ensure that no young person is left behind. We are building homes, and more importantly, building the future,” he added.
The North West Youth Forum, which represents youth groups across the region, visited to express appreciation and pledged continued support for the Minister’s efforts to unite and uplift Nigerian youths.
Minister Ata thanked the group for their visit and urged young Nigerians to stay positive and committed to nation-building.
