Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was confirmed on Wednesday after a closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Asaba.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, confirmed the development to journalists.
Governor Oborevwori, who emerged as Governor in the 2023 election under the PDP, was warmly received by top APC leaders. Political observers say the move signals a major realignment with possible impact on the 2027 general elections.
