A pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, under the aiges of Agbajowo Advocacy for Yoruba People’s Right (AAYPR) has declared its support for the candidature of Engr. Seyi Makinde as the governor of Oyo State.
The group in a Press Conference addressed by its National President Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, at the Press Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan said the group would work and ensure the success of the Governor Seyi Makinde, during the Saturday governorship election in the State.
The AAYPR President flanked by other executive members of the group, also chides the All Progressive Congress (APC) flagbearer, Teslim Folarin over various breach of peace and insecurity in the State.
The group further described the APC governorship candidate as an ambitious and inpatient politician, who will never govern the State.
Commending Makinde over what it described as peace, security and various developmental projects embarked upon in various parts of the State, urged the people of the State to vote for him and ensure his success during the Saturday poll.
According to the group, “there is no gainsaying the fact that we are at a critical moment in the history of Oyo State, as a people, we must collectively reflect on the various developmental projects embarked upon by Seyi Makinde-led administration and give him our supports.
“We must all come together to rescue the State from being going back, this development must continue, we have all what it takes to ensure continuety in all ramifications within Oyo State” he stated.
The group also declared that its over ten thousand members spread across various parts of Oyo State has vowed to vote and work for the success of the incumbent governor and ensure his success during the Saturday gubernatorial election.
He used the ocassion to solicited for the supports of various groups and individuals in Oyo State to vote for the PDP candidates during the poll, saying that the move would ensure the continuity of the good works of Seyi Makinde in the State.
“It is in the interest of the development of Oyo State this unfortunate that has motivated us into coming out to alert our dear people of Oyo State that we must allow the good works currently going on in this State, we need to vote wisely come this Saturday.
“To us, Seyi Makinde is a candidate to beat and he has the progressive ideology to make our State progress accordingly. Indeed, it is only by re-electing, he has vast experience in corporate governance and development, that our dear State can be saved from imminent collapse.”
