The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially fixed Thursday, October 9, 2025, for its main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.
The announcement was contained in a public notice released on Tuesday through the Service’s verified platforms.

According to the statement, candidates have been divided into three batches — A, B, and C, and are required to log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) on the official recruitment portal: https://updates.customs.gov.ng to verify their batch, date, and examination time.
“The Main Online Recruitment Examination for all shortlisted Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants has been scheduled for Thursday, 9th October 2025,” the notice stated.
The Customs Service emphasized that strict compliance with the assigned batch and time is mandatory, warning that failure to adhere could lead to disqualification.
“Candidates are strongly advised against the use of calculators, mobile phones, or any other devices during the examination,” the statement added.
The Service also cautioned applicants to avoid multiple log-ins or switching browser windows, noting that such actions could disrupt participation or lead to automatic disqualification.
The NCS clarified that the ongoing recruitment phase is exclusively for Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadre applicants. Candidates in the Superintendent cadre, it said, would be scheduled for their examination at a later date.
“Only Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants are to take part in this stage of the examination.
Applicants of the Superintendent Cadre are not to participate at this stage,” the notice read.
The Service assured applicants that details regarding the Superintendent cadre examination would be communicated once the current phase concludes successfully.
The 2025 recruitment exercise aims to fill various technical, administrative, and enforcement roles within the Customs Service, as part of efforts to boost national revenue collection and border security operations.
