The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority on Monday condemned the physical clash between social media influencers Martins Otse, known as Verydarkman, and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, aboard an Asaba Lagos flight, saying both men will face sanctions.
In a statement posted on X, the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection described the incident as unacceptable behaviour, stressing that it posed a serious threat to the safety of passengers and crew.

According to the spokesperson, the aviation regulator will not tolerate unruly conduct inside an aircraft, adding that the two men will face the full strength of the law for their actions.
Commenting further, he said it was disappointing that the pair, who often advise their online followers against disruptive behaviour, became involved in such a public altercation.
The spokesperson explained that airlines are expected to file official reports on incidents of this nature and confirmed that legal steps would follow once the details are received from the carrier.
He noted that the fight endangered everyone on board, stating that the safety of the aircraft itself was also put at risk by the chaotic scene in the cabin.
The NCAA reiterated its ongoing efforts to educate passengers on the dangers and consequences of unruly behaviour, insisting that no justification could excuse the conduct that unfolded inside the aircraft.
Reports indicated that the clash stemmed from an ongoing online dispute between the two men, which escalated sharply when they encountered each other inside the plane. Passengers and crew were said to have intervened to restore calm.
In a video later posted on Facebook, Verydarkman claimed he confronted Mr Jollof during the incident, making boastful remarks about the altercation.
The NCAA spokesperson added that the authority is still gathering full details from the airline and cabin crew, assuring that a comprehensive statement will be released once the facts are confirmed.
