EKSUTH Denies Allegation of Refusing to Evacuate Flood Victims

In a statement issued, the management said the allegation is entirely incorrect and does not reflect the hospital’s actions since the incident.

According to the statement, EKSUTH has been working closely with relevant agencies of the Ekiti State Government in the search, recovery and appropriate management of victims of the flood.

“At present, the bodies of two recovered victims have been received and are being kept at the EKSUTH mortuary,” the management said.

It added that it is unaware of any circumstance that could reasonably give rise to the allegation that the hospital refused to evacuate recovered victims.

The hospital urged members of the public to rely on verified information, particularly at this difficult time, and avoid circulating reports capable of causing further distress to affected families.

“The Management and staff of EKSUTH extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased, and to the people of Ekiti State over this deeply unfortunate incident,” the statement added.
