The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced a major breakthrough in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, revealing that both countries have agreed to a ceasefire arrangement aimed at ending the 12-day war.
In a statement released late Monday, President Trump said Iran and Israel have committed to a phased ceasefire, which will begin in the next six hours. According to the plan, Iran will lead by halting its military actions first, while Israel will follow suit 12 hours later.

Trump said both nations have agreed to uphold peace and mutual respect throughout each phase of the ceasefire, with a complete end to hostilities expected within 24 hours.
He described the agreement as a “diplomatic breakthrough,” and praised both countries for showing what he called “stamina, courage, and intelligence” in choosing peace over prolonged war.
“Congratulations to everyone! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire… and the war will officially be declared ended after 24 hours,” Trump said.
He further stated: “This is a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East — but it didn’t, and it never will. God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States, and God bless the world!”
This announcement came just hours after Trump had earlier called for calm in the region, following Iran’s missile attack on a major US military base in the Middle East.
Trump disclosed that Iran fired 14 missiles in retaliation for the recent US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. However, he added that 13 of the missiles were intercepted, while the remaining one caused no significant damage.
The ceasefire deal has raised hopes of a de-escalation in tensions across the region, with global leaders and observers closely watching how both sides implement the agreement.
