Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nigerian music icon Dbanj for his unwavering support of her Jenifa franchise.
Speaking at the premiere of her highly anticipated movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, held on Sunday night, Akindele highlighted the sacrifices Dbanj, fondly known as “Bangalee,” made to back her project.
The actress revealed that the singer postponed his personal commitments to assist her, showcasing his dedication to their collaboration.
“A big thank you to Bangalee,” she said during her speech. “He was supposed to travel for a project. I begged and begged and begged. He told his team to pause the project, and he did this for me at no cost.”
Akindele’s acknowledgment underscores Dbanj’s significant role in the success of her brand, as the film gears up for its highly anticipated release this December.
