The Bishop of Diocese of Ekiti Oke Anglican Communion, Isaac Olubowale has urged the newly installed Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo to promote spirit of unity and peace among his people.
Bishop Olubowale gave the advice on Sunday during the thanksgiving service of Obalodo held at Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Oye Ekiti
He appealed to the newly installed chief to see his position as a call to service by God and by so doing, it would facilitate the growth of the town.
The Bishop who described Chief Oguntoyinbo as reputable, generous and straight forward man, urged him to let the people of Oye Ekiti continue to feel his good leadership qualities.
Addressing the congregation, the Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye congratulated the new Obalodo and called on the people of Oye Ekiti to support him.
Similarly, the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti state, Prof. Modupe Adelabu advised Chief Oguntoyinbo to let the love and development of the community be paramount in his heart.
Also, the Eyesorun of Ado- Ekiti, Olori Abosede Adejugbe prayed to God to give the new Obalodo who is also his younger brother wisdom to lead his people in the path of peace, unity and development.
Reacting, the new Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo and his wife, Mrs Omotola Oguntoyinbo thanked those people who made the installation possible.
They promised that the restoration of the culture and traditions of Oye Ekiti would be given priority.
Notable dignitaries, Indigenes of Oye-Ekiti and among political office holders, permanent secretaries attended the thanksgiving service of the new Obalodo.
The security agencies such as the Nigerian Police, Amotekun Corps and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were available to ensure orderliness and curb any forms of disruption during the event.(NAN)
