Official figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) show that Soludo garnered 422,664 votes, defeating his closest challenger from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 99,445 votes. The outcome confirmed Soludo’s strong command in both rural and urban communities across the 21 local government areas.

In Dunukofia Local Government Area, Soludo maintained a comfortable lead with 14,892 votes, leaving APC’s Ukachukwu Nicholas far behind with 1,045 votes. Other contenders, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Labour Party (LP), trailed with 232 and 71 votes respectively, reflecting APGA’s solid grassroots mobilisation.

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) secured 850 votes, and LP obtained 210 votes, showing minimal impact from smaller parties. In Anambra West, Soludo further expanded his margin with 19,012 votes, compared to APC’s 3,905.

In Awka North, the governor strengthened his position with 25,314 votes, more than five times the total of APC’s 4,970 votes. Minor parties, including ADC and AA, struggled to cross the 1,000-vote mark. Ogbaru Local Government, known for its competitive elections, also favoured the incumbent governor. Soludo recorded 15,890 votes, while APC came a distant second with 2,890. In Onitsha North, Soludo strengthened his urban support with 28,450 votes, surpassing APC’s 7,120. Similarly, Ekwusigo gave Soludo 15,450 votes, and Ihiala followed with 20,450 votes, leaving APC behind in both.

The dominance continued in Orumba North and Orumba South, where Soludo scored 18,230 and 19,670 votes respectively. APC managed about 3,500 votes in each area, while smaller parties collectively failed to surpass 500 votes.

Ayamelum Local Government added to Soludo’s victory tally with 12,450 votes, while APC received 2,110. Ogbaru North and Ogbaru South returned 11,780 and 12,980 votes respectively in favour of Soludo. In Awka Central, the APGA candidate won 14,450 votes, further cementing his popularity in urban areas.

With a margin of more than 323,000 votes, Soludo’s triumph reaffirms his administration’s wide acceptance among voters and the continued strength of APGA in Anambra politics. Despite a voter turnout of just 21.4%, the results show overwhelming support for the incumbent governor, who now has a renewed mandate to continue his developmental agenda in the state.
