President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State on his re-election, describing the victory as clear evidence of his “visionary leadership and the remarkable progress” achieved under his administration.
In a statement personally signed on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming triumph in Saturday’s governorship election made him the third leader in Anambra’s history to win a second term, noting that the outcome reflected the people’s trust in his performance and leadership style.

The President praised the people of Anambra State for their peaceful conduct during the election and commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a credible and transparent process.
According to Tinubu, Soludo’s re-election affirms that knowledge and sound academic principles can be effectively translated into good governance. He described the Anambra governor as a disciplined and intelligent administrator whose innovative approach has transformed the state.
“I have witnessed firsthand the developmental strides in Anambra when I visited earlier this year,” Tinubu said. “Professor Soludo has brought fresh energy to governance, and under his leadership, the state is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”
While congratulating the governor and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on their success, Tinubu urged Soludo to extend a hand of fellowship to his political opponents for the sake of unity and continued progress in the state.
He also assured the governor of the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with Anambra on key development initiatives, expressing readiness to strengthen cooperation between both levels of government.
President Tinubu further commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for organizing what he described as a free and credible election, urging the commission to sustain the standard and continue improving Nigeria’s electoral process.
“The victory of an opposition party in this election underscores the strength of our democracy,” Tinubu said, “and it proves that the Nigerian people will always reward competence, hard work, and progressive governance.”
