Obidient Movement Rejects ADC Directive, Insists Obi Won’t Be Rushed

National Coordinator of the group, Dr Yunusa Tanko, described Obi’s mission as one of service rather than desperation.

“Obi is not desperate to be President of Nigeria.

“His ultimate mission is to see Nigeria work—to lift people out of poverty, to improve the economy, education, healthcare, and security. These were the reasons he joined the coalition in the first place,” Tanko said in a statement on Friday.

The group also accused the ADC of attempting to alter earlier agreements within the coalition. “Why does it appear that the ADC is changing resolutions already adopted by the coalition, particularly on zoning and sharing of principal offices?” Tanko queried.

The Obidients stressed that Obi’s political alignment required wide consultations and could not be dictated by party caucuses.
