Governor Sacks Information Commissioner, Makes Replacement

This was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa. The appointment of Maiyaki takes immediate effect.

Maiyaki, before his elevation, was the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). He now takes over the information ministry to help drive the state’s communication strategy.

Although the statement did not clearly state the reason for Bello’s removal, it acknowledged his previous redeployment from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Information.

The CPS further noted that the governor appreciated Bello’s contributions to the administration and wished him success in his future endeavours.

However, a resignation letter seen by our correspondent revealed that Muhammad Bello voluntarily stepped down from his role as commissioner and member of the executive council.

“Reference to letter number GH/KD/S/171 dated 27th July 2023, appointing me as commissioner and member of the Kaduna State Executive Council, I wish to notify you of my decision to voluntarily resign with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

Bello expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in different capacities under the current administration.
