Renowned Kano businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has been buried in Madina, Saudi Arabia, in accordance with his final request to be laid to rest beside his late wife.
Though the burial took place in Saudi Arabia, a special funeral prayer (janazah) was held in absentia at Umar Bin Khattab Mosque in Kano. The prayer was led by the Chairman of the Kano Council of Ulama, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, supported by the Commandant General of the Kano Hisbah Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Daurawa.

The solemn gathering drew prominent personalities, including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, members of the Kano State Executive Council, and respected figures from the business and religious communities.
Alhaji Dantata died at the age of 94 in the early hours of Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to family sources, his burial in Madina honours his longstanding wish to be interred close to his wife’s grave — a testament to the deep bond they shared.
