BOUESTI Shines at Hult Prize, Emerges Among Top 3 Nationwide

The Hult Prize is a renowned international platform that encourages student entrepreneurship and innovation, challenging participants to develop viable startup solutions to pressing global challenges.

This year’s edition of the competition featured 41 highly competitive teams from Federal, State, and Private universities across Nigeria. Participating institutions included top names such as the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), BELLS University, Covenant University, Landmark University, Bayero University, and BOUESTI, among others.

BOUESTI was ably represented by two teams — POSHFILL and PEEBAR — both of which competed in Group 1 with 18 other teams, making 20 in total. Group 2 featured 21 teams. Following rigorous presentations and evaluations, six standout teams — three from each group — emerged as finalists based on the strength, innovation, and viability of their business ideas.

Amid the fierce competition, BOUESTI’s POSHFILL stood tall, earning a well-deserved spot in the Top 6. They went on to clinch third place (2nd Runner-up), a stellar achievement that placed them ahead of 38 other teams and affirmed the university’s growing reputation for innovation and academic excellence.

The final Top 6 featured startups from:
BOUESTI, UNILAG, University of Ibadan (UI), BELLS University, Bayero University and Landmark University.

While BELLS University emerged as overall winner and Landmark University took second place, BOUESTI made history as the only public university among the Top 3 finalists — a remarkable feat that underscores the caliber of talent being cultivated at the institution.

Beyond the awards, POSHFILL’s performance brought immense visibility to BOUESTI, showcasing not only the creativity of its students but also the university’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial thinking and innovation. The result is a source of pride for the university, Ekiti State, and advocates of public higher education in Nigeria.

This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication, creativity, and resilience of the student innovators. Their journey reflects the quality of education and mentorship available at BOUESTI.
