CIPA Commends Ekiti’s Democratic Momentum aS APC Flags Off BAO/MCA 2026 Campaign

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Ayodele Abere, ANIPR, CIPA said the scale, discipline, and representation at the rally reflected earned trust built on consistent, people-centred governance.

The event was attended by serving and former governors, members of the National Assembly, party stakeholders, and residents drawn from all 16 local government areas of the state.

“CIPA was founded on the conviction that political participation must be anchored in values of transparency, accountability, and unwavering commitment to the public good. We do not applaud political events; we assess them. And what Ekiti demonstrated on April 27 invites genuine commendation,” the statement said.

The group noted that Governor Oyebanji’s tenure has been characterised by infrastructure delivery, human capital investment, and institutional transparency. “The groundswell of support at Monday’s rally is not incidental; it is a direct consequence of performance,” CIPA stated.

CIPA outlined three commitments for the campaign season:

Campaign on the record. The group said the governor’s documented scorecard on infrastructure, improved livelihoods, and strengthened institutions remains the strongest campaign argument. CIPA pledged to help communicate that record clearly and credibly to voters across the state.

Mobilise with dignity. CIPA called for peaceful and purposeful civic engagement across all 16 local government areas, stressing that votes should be earned through persuasion, not pressure, to ensure a campaign that governs with legitimacy.

Keep citizens at the centre. The group pledged to actively engage Ekiti communities, encourage voter participation, and ensure the mandate sought reflects the genuine aspirations of the people.

“Elections are moments of collective choice. Ekiti State now stands at one of those moments, where governance has been transparent, accountable, and rooted in the genuine welfare of the people,” the statement said.

CIPA reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising citizens, amplifying the governor’s record, and ensuring that the APC’s mandate in Ekiti State is secured on a foundation of performance, trust, and the enduring aspirations of its people.
