The newly inaugurated Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, has emphasized the need for a cultural transformation within the institution to drive growth and excellence.

In his inaugural speech, Professor Ogunwole, a renowned Soil Scientist, stressed that the university must shift from a culture of indiscipline to one of accountability, excellence, and shared responsibility.
He emphasized the importance of reorienting staff mindsets to foster a transformative outlook, driving the university’s mission forward.
The Vice Chancellor outlined his administration’s plans for a more inclusive and decentralized structure, promoting creativity, innovation, and internationalization.
He also highlighted the need for strategic repositioning and rebranding to make FUOYE a globally visible university with a strong economic advantage.
Professor Ogunwole’s vision for the university includes entrenching a culture of discipline and teamwork, de-emphasizing excessive hierarchy, and promoting collective spirit.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, represented by Hajiya Nafisa Nahuche, charged Professor Ogunwole to be a steward of integrity, champion academic freedom, and build consensus, building on the foundation laid by his predecessors.
The event was attended by family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers from various backgrounds. In his inauguration lecture, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, urged Professor Ogunwole to be a courageous leader, taking decisions based on facts and principles rather than sentiments or pressure.
