The Kano State Zoological Garden and Wildlife Management Agency, (KAZOWMA) is currently undergoing a major overhaul to boost tourism and hospitality business across the state.
Hon. Musayyib Kawu, the newly appointed Managing Director of the agency, who disclosed this in his inaugural address, pledged to reposition the agency to enhance recreational activities across the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the zoo, Hauwa Adam in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, this administration will focus on upgrading and renovating existing infrastructure at the zoo and as well introduce new animal species and improve staff welfare to ensure efficient service delivery.
“Detailed assessment of the agency’s challenges and needs will be compiled and submitted to state government to strengthen its status as a major tourist destination,”he said.
Kawu urged the residents to actively participate in democratic process by obtaining and renewing their Permanent Voter Cards.
