Raji-Rasaki Urges Unity, Reconciliation Among APC Members In Ekiti

By Samuel Sunday

Raji-Rasaki, who represented the district from 2015 to 2019, made the call on Thursday during a meeting with party members in the ward.

She said the meeting was aimed at rebuilding relationships, strengthening party cohesion and encouraging members to work together for the progress of Ekiti State.

The former lawmaker urged members to resolve their differences and support one another, stressing that democracy should allow people at the grassroots to participate in decisions affecting their communities.

Raji-Rasaki expressed concern over lingering disaffection among some party members, insisting that leaders should listen to the people rather than impose decisions on them.

She also called for collective support for President Bola Tinubu, expressing hope that sustained cooperation would enable the President to complete his programmes and drive development in the state.

She urged members to put aside their differences and work collectively for the success of the party in future elections.

In his remarks, the Ward 7 Chairman, Olajide Olamilekan, described the meeting as a welcome development, expressing delight over the former senator’s renewed engagement with members.

Olamilekan appealed for more government appointments and development projects for the ward, particularly road rehabilitation, noting that some roads in Oke-Ila were in deplorable condition.

Also speaking, Otuba Obafemi Iliseanmi and other party members commended Raji-Rasaki for reconnecting with the community, describing her as a grassroots politician who had contributed to the development of the area.

On his part, Honourable Oluwole Esesan said the meeting provided an opportunity for members to discuss the progress of Ekiti State and reaffirm their support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji and President Tinubu.

The participants expressed optimism that the engagement would strengthen party unity and attract greater attention to the development needs of Ward 7 and the state at large.
