The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to three additional academic programmes at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, raising the institution’s total number of fully accredited programmes to 79.
The approval was conveyed in a letter dated April 7, 2026, addressed to the Vice Chancellor and signed by the Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC.

The accreditation followed the October/November 2025 exercise in which a panel of experts assessed the human and material resources available for the programmes to determine compliance with the Commission’s minimum academic standards.
The newly accredited programmes, valid for five years before the next reaccreditation, are:
Nursing Science
Adult Education
Education English Language
Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, described the approval as a “giant stride” toward the university’s vision of academic excellence and innovation. He thanked the Executive Secretary of the NUC for the approval.
With the new additions, EKSU now has 79 programmes with full accreditation out of 79, representing 100 percent accreditation status.
Professor Ayodele commended the Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the University, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, as well as the University Governing Council and Senate, for their support in achieving the milestone.
He added that the development reflects the university’s commitment to expanding academic frontiers and meeting the evolving needs of society and industry.
