Make Meaningful Impact In Society, BOUESTI VC Charges Outgoing Corps Members

Professor Omojola gave the charge at a send-off ceremony organised last Wednesday in honour of the Batch C, 2025 corps members who recently completed their national service in the institution.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research), Professor Foyeke Ibimilua, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged the former corps members to sustain their relationship with the University, describing them as stakeholders whose experiences and continued interest could contribute to its growth.

He urged them not to hesitate to draw the attention of the University Management to any observed shortcomings or wrongdoing, stressing the importance of constructive feedback in promoting institutional development.

In her remarks, the Registrar, Mrs Adenike Adeusi, represented by the Deputy Registrar, Council Affairs, Mrs Oluwakemi Ayodeji, commended the corps members for their diligence, commitment and peaceful conduct throughout their service year.

She described them as an exceptional set of young Nigerians, noting that their careful selection and subsequent performance justified the confidence reposed in them by the University.

The Registrar further challenged them to demonstrate that the value of higher education goes beyond certificates, urging them to complement their academic qualifications with good character, integrity and an entrepreneurial mindset.

She observed that the failure of nations could often be traced to a deficit of character among their citizens, emphasising that personal integrity and responsible citizenship remain indispensable ingredients of national development.

The ceremony featured the presentation of gifts to the former corps members by the representative of the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of their service and contributions to the University.
