The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued a two-year-old girl who was allegedly trafficked from Abuja to Aba, Abia State.
According to a statement issued by the agency on Friday, the toddler, now identified as Chiamaka Favor (not her real name), was rescued by NAPTIP operatives in Abia on May 8, 2025.

The suspected trafficker, who reportedly collaborated with three human trafficking rings based in Abuja, was earlier apprehended by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abia and later handed over to NAPTIP.
The agency revealed that the suspect allegedly sold the child to a buyer in Aba for ₦100,000. Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
