The erstwhile Chairman of Oye Local Government, Chief Bamitale Oguntoynbo has charged the local government Chairmen across across the local governments in Ekiti State to complement the efforts of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji at their various Local Governments and Council Development Areas by embarking on meaningful projects that will have impact on the life of the people at the grassroots.
Oguntoyinbo, the Chief Obalodo of Oye kingdom, who was the chairman of oye Local government between 2004-2007, said the local government Chairmen must be proactive in thinking of embarking on legacy development projects that will put their names in gold after their tenures in office, rather than execiting the projects that won’t stand the test of time.

The former local government Chairman expressed this view in Oye Ekiti his country home when journalists called on him to know his views about the performances of the present crops of Chairmen compared to when he was serving as the council chairman in Oye local government.
The Obalodo of Oye kingdom, who doubles as the chairman Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency, noted that democracy starts from the grassroots. He explained that many of the Chairmen are far away from the grassroots people.
“The Chairmen need to interact with community leaders, people who had once served and performed creditably in various government positions and have good record of service”.
Stressing that Chairmen must stand and defend the governor in their respective council areas, in the media and any available venue, and as well put on ground meaningful capital projects.
Chief Oguntoyinbo posited that chairman of a council can discuss, and collaborate with the governor for a meaningful project for the development of a local government, saying states are also collaborating with the federal government for the development of various states.
He therefore advised the state government to mandate each local government to put on ground local government advisory body to advise the local government Chairmen in their projects execution.
