Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has recorded another achievement in sports as Temidayo Ajayi, a 100-level student of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, secured third place at the 2026 Ojaja Table Tennis Competition, sponsored and hosted by the Ooni of Ife at his palace.

Ajayi has also qualified to represent Ekiti State at the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Enugu State from November 27 to December 11, 2026, after finishing third at the Ekiti State Table Tennis Festival Trials held last Monday at the EKSU Sports Hall.

His performance at the state trials earned him a place among the athletes selected to represent Ekiti State at the national competition.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, congratulated Ajayi on his feats, describing them as a source of pride to the University.
“Temidayo’s achievements demonstrate the talent and competitive spirit of our students. Qualifying to represent Ekiti State at the National Sports Festival and securing third place at the Ojaja Table Tennis Competition are commendable accomplishments. We congratulate him and wish him greater success as he prepares for the national event,” Professor Ayodele said.
He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to encouraging students to develop their talents and pursue excellence in both academics and sports.

“We encourage our students to take advantage of opportunities to showcase their abilities and represent the University and the state with distinction. Temidayo’s progress is an example of what dedication and the development of sporting talent can achieve,” he added.
Ajayi’s achievements further underscore the sporting potential within EKSU and the importance of providing students with opportunities to excel beyond the classroom.
