Ekiti Govt Begins Issuance of Appointment Letters to 500 Newly Recruited SUBEB Teachers

This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of EK-SUBEB, Mr. Mike Omolayo, made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.

According to the statement, the successful candidates in the first batch are expected to report to the office of the Director of Administration and Supply, EK-SUBEB Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, by 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, for collection of their appointment letters.

Omolayo directed that the shortlisted candidates must come along with their original academic certificates and other relevant credentials for verification before their appointment letters would be handed over to them.

He warned that any candidate who fails to present original credentials for sighting or fails to show up at the stipulated time may risk forfeiting the appointment.

It would be recalled that the Ekiti State Government, a few months ago, announced the recruitment of teachers into the public basic education sector as part of efforts to bridge the manpower gap in primary and junior secondary schools across the state and improve the quality of basic education delivery.

The recruitment exercise, which attracted thousands of applicants across the 16 local government areas of the state, was conducted through a competitive and merit-based process, including a written examination and screening.

According to available information, a total of 1,918 applicants were reported to have met the required cut-off mark for the exercise, with the government adopting a phased approach for the issuance of appointment letters.

The release of the first batch of 500 successful candidates is the first phase of the recruitment, while subsequent batches are expected to be released in due course.

Stakeholders in the education sector have commended the state government for its commitment to strengthening basic education through recruitment of qualified teachers, describing the move as a step in the right direction towards addressing teacher shortages in public schools.

The Board reiterated its commitment to transparency and merit in the recruitment process and urged the public to disregard any unofficial information regarding the exercise.

The full list of the 500 successful candidates is expected to be published on the official notice board of EK-SUBEB and other official communication channels of the Board.
