Dr. Oyebanji described Adeniyi’s action as a rare show of patriotism and good citizenship, noting that his gesture was not only commendable but worthy of emulation.

“When I saw the post online and the rate of abuses in the comment section, I felt concerned about our political landscape. My brother, I appreciate you; you have not done this in vain,” she said.

The First Lady revealed that Adeniyi’s courage to publicly promote the governor was a testament to the transformation taking place in the state, and she has directed him to work with the Director-General, Bureau of Community Communications, to further propagate the administration’s achievements.

The D-G Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Osho-Omotoso, also commended Adeniyi’s initiative, lamenting the negative reactions that trailed the development online.

“The criticism reflects the need for political reorientation in the country. Rather than the castigation, people should have applauded the young man’s boldness in supporting good governance,” she said.

Five local government chairmen who visited the First Lady joined in celebrating Adeniyi, describing his action as a morale booster that had further simplified their task of promoting the administration’s achievements.

Adeniyi cited Governor Oyebanji’s giant strides across various sectors, including road infrastructure upgrades, rural development, recruitment of teachers and health workers, youth empowerment initiatives, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises, as key reasons for his support.

“I would have done more, but I was hampered by finance,” Adeniyi said, reaffirming his commitment to continue mobilising support for the governor’s re-election”.
