The Executive Chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area, Hon Toyin Ojo, has said his administration is willing to join hands with Ekiti State government to transform Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti, the State capital.
The chairman who stated this during the evacuation of a yet to be identified decomposing body of a mad woman by the environmental officers of the LCDA, expressed his displeasure about the situation of things in the area.
Some residents suspected the carcass to be that of a middle aged lady nicknamed “Iron lady” who used to reside at Oke-Ila area of Ado Ekiti.
Hon.Toyin Ojo, explained that about four unidentified bodies of mad people had been evacuated in the area by his administration in the last few months. Saying his administration has always been concerned with the hygienic condition of the people of the area and the need to guide against epidemic.
According to him, “proper development of atikankan araa of Ado-Ekiti is necessary, to curb mad people using the place as their place of abode”.
The Chairman, therefore called on the youths to shun drug abuse that could lead to mental illness and criminality.
