The Old Students Association of the Oke-Ado High School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State, have expressed joy over the enthronement of their former teacher, Ghandi Afolabi Laoye as the new Soun of Ogbomoso.

They prayed for his long reign on the throne of his forefathers.

This was contained in a statement co-signed by President and Secretary of the association Engr. Sola Olanisebe and Adepeju

Olukoya, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan where they felicitated the new monarch.

“We the former students of Oba Ghandi send our warmest and sincerest congratulations to the new Soun of Ogbomoso, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Laoye.

“With no shred of doubt, Oba Ghandi is well able and well equipped by God to take Ogbomoso to enviable heights.

“We recalled with nostalgia how ‘Gadafi’, as we fondly called Oba Ghandi due to his intimidating height, to we students and the exhaustive way he taught us English language at Oke-Ado High School then.”

“We owe our Teacher, our King all the supports and encouragement that will put his vision for the city on the wheel, hence, all hands must

be on deck as we call on the people of Ogbomoso at home and in diaspora to synergise and support the new Soun to enhance peace, progress and prosperity in the land.” The statement reads.
