Rescue Our Community From Incessant Herders Attacks — Ekiti Lawmaker, Hon Idowu Cries Out

Hon. Tunde Idowu made the call over the weekend during a chart with Journalists over the ugly incident that occurred in Ikere Ekiti between the Herders, Cattle Rustlers and the Residents. 

The Lawmaker condemned  the incessant attacks on the farmlands in Ikere Ekiti and called on the State Governor, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and other stakeholders to rise to the situation and rescue Ikere Community from the hands of the unscrupulous men.

According to the lawmaker, “i was deeply touched and emotionally disorganised by the ugly activities of the herders and cattle rustlers in my Constituency, it has been persistent and now become unbearable for us in the last two weeks, the Fulani herders have carried out series of terrible destruction on our farm lands. Banana, Cassava, Yam plantations and Cocoa farms were burnt,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hon Idowu commended the unwavering efforts of the Ekiti State Government and swift action of the two Council Chairmen in Ikere Local Government to checkmate the menace of the Herders.

He enjoined all the relevant security agents to redouble their efforts as he charged residents to be law abiding, saying government is on top of the situation.
