Following the devastating incident in Ureje, Ado Ekiti, where a man suspected to be a motorcyclist lost his life to flooding over the weekend, Ekiti State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has swiftly responded with a message of caution as rainny season begins.
Reacting to the tragic incident, Erelu Tosin Aluko – Ajisafe, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and extended heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.
“This is heartbreaking and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased during this difficult time. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life due to the flooding in Ureje. Such incident reminds us of the importance of prioritizing safety and taking precautions during adverse weather conditions.” Ajisafe-Aluko said.
The Commissioner emphasized the need for residents to remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially during heavy rainfall. She urged the community to avoid unnecessary risk and to heed safety warnings issued by authorities.
