The Federal Commissioner for Salaries, Wages and Income, Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade who is also a member of the Presidential Campaign Council, Contacts and Mobilisation has described the Saturday Presidential election as very peaceful.
She made this known while speaking with journalists in Oye-Ekiti, in Our Local Government Area of Ekiti State having cast her own vote.
According to the former Health Commissioner in Ekiti State, “everybody obeyed the law and we instructed that if there’s no verification, there’s no voting and that was made sure it happened. I think everybody voted their minds.
“APC is leading in Ekiti State. I can say that vehemently. It’s emphatic. PDP and other political parties have some decent votes. But majorly and overwhelmingly, APC is leading. So we are hoping that APC will win throughout the Nation and we will see a better and greater Nigeria we are all struggling and working for”.
Yaya-Kolade who supervised all the units in Oye-Ekiti, walking around and interacted said everything was very peaceful. Saying the election was the most peaceful election she ever witnessed in Nigeria.
“One thing that made me very happy is the overwhelming turn out of the youths. You know Oye is a Federal University Town. When you have a university town and you see units, youths coming enmass, it’s a something and as I was going around, I was joking with them, telling them it’s your future. It’s less of me. It’s more of you”. Whatever we see is the true expression of Nigerians. Yaya-Kolade added.
Rating the whole exercise, the Honourable Commissioner said, everything was excellent. “No manipulation, the BVAS is excellent. If you are not captured, you are not captured. If your PVC, for whatever reason did not show, you wouldn’t be allowed to vote and we the leaders of the party were encouraging that. I went round and said, if you are not checked, don’t vote because we don’t want any problem.
“I think this is one of the best we have seen and I hope this is the beginning of the greater things for this country that we all love so much. There’s nothing like voter inducement at all”.
