Tunisian President Kais Saied has dismissed Finance Minister Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia and appointed Michket Slama Khaldi as her replacement.
The presidency announced Khaldi’s appointment on Facebook overnight, sharing images of her taking the oath of office but providing no further details.
Before her new role, Khaldi led a national commission focused on recovering embezzled public funds.
Tunisia has faced recurring shortages of essential goods like milk, sugar, and flour over the past two years, with recent scarcities also affecting domestic gas cylinders used for cooking and heating.
