NAHCON Extends 2025 Hajj Registration Deadline

NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Saleh Usman, announced the extension during a Zoom meeting with Hajj stakeholders, following appeals from intending pilgrims who missed the initial January 31 deadline.

He urged State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards to ensure timely fund transfers, emphasizing that payments must be made before Saudi Arabia’s February 14 deadline for contract signings.

NAHCON’s Commissioner of Operations, Anofiu Elegushi, suggested that pilgrims who can afford the Hajj fare—excluding the $5,000 Basic Travel Allowance—should proceed with payments while sourcing the allowance separately.

Stakeholders also discussed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s proposal to disburse travel allowances via credit cards, a move many opposed due to potential hardships for pilgrims. Discussions on the matter are ongoing.
