The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji has hailed the Executive Chairman of Ise-Orun Local Government, Engr. Ayodele Joshua Akinluyi over the construction of laudable and enviable projects across the LGA.
Oyebanji stated this on Tuesday during the commissioning of five Projects facilitated by the LG Boss.
The Projects include: construction of Traditional Council Chamber, drilling of boreholes at five quarters in the Local Government, construction of five unit open market stall, erection of transformer and building of skill acquisition centre.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Folorunso Olabode, noted that the projects are attestations of the good work of Oyebanji in ensuring that people at the grassroots enjoy the dividends of democracy.
In his speech, the Chairman of the LG, Engr Ayodele Akinluyi said the Governor “has successfully returned the state to the path of rectitude”, adding that “he has neither compromised the economic viability nor the political and social stability of the State despite Ekiti State’s meagre allocation.
“He has provided the much-needed-fillip and enabling environment for local government councils and local council development areas to thrive.
On the approval of the construction of the road between Ikere and Ise-Ekiti, he said “This project has safety implications, improve both human and vehicular movements. The road on completion will bring about accelerated Development, beneficial in moving agricultural products and assist in fast flow of business.
“The objective of my administration is to bring a balanced development of the whole Ise/Orun Local Government and we have been able to put across our determination and will to achieve our set goals.
“The present administration in the local government under my watch keyed into good Governance Initiative of Governor BAO via construction of Traditional Council Chamber at the Local Government Secretariat.
“The project which is earmarked for commissioning today is aimed at maintaining harmonious relationship with our royal fathers. This construction is an attestation of the pivotal roles the Traditional Rulers have been playing in the Local Government administration in Nigeria.
“The local government also embraced the youth development and job creation agenda of the present State government by construction and completion of skills acquisition centre at Oraye quarters, Ise-Ekiti, geared towards making the youths independent and self-employed.
“My administration also provided succour to the Erinwa Community which has been living in darkness for almost seven years by restoring electricity in the area.
“The construction of five unit open market stall at Orun-Ekiti accentuates the resolve and devotion of our administration towards boosting commerce and consequently raise the Internally Generated Revenue of the LG.”
Also, the Bible Society of Nigeria, Ise-Orun Ekiti chapter presented an award to the Chairman for his commitment and support to christianity in the LGA.
On his part, the paramount ruler of Ise-Orun Ekiti, Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti, Oba David Ayodele Ajayi, commended the efforts of the Chairman for his selfless service to his community, adding that he has displayed the true reflection of the ‘Omoluabi’.
While praying for long life and prosperity in his further endeavours, he hailed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for placing high premium on the welfare of Traditional rulers, adding that his gesture towards the Institution has made him the governor of the people.
Also at the events were Commissioner of Wealth Creation and employment, Hon. Kayode Fasaye, Permanent secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Toba-Ojo, Head of Local Government Area, Ise Ekiti Local Government, Mr. Sesan Aina among others.
