Oyebanji Pledges Empowerment For Drivers As NURTW Inaugrates New Office In Ekiti

The Governor gave the applause during the inauguration of a newly constructed office complex of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

While remarking, Oyebanji said continuity of Government by a single political party would bring unprecedented development to the state, noting that the little set back experienced in the State was caused by the opposition party that took charge of the administration  along the lines.

He said  efforts are ongoing to support drivers unions, traders and others who are not civil servants for them to enjoy more dividend of good governance under his leadership.

The Governor reiterated the efforts of his administration to partner with the federal government towards addressing the infrastructure challenges confronting the state, particularly the dualisation of the 31-kilometre highway that connects Ekiti State to the FCT through Ondo, Edo and Kogi States.

Recall that some students and staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti trooped out recently to protest the deplorable condition of the Ado-Ekiti-Ikare-Akoko road.

Speaking at the Inauguration, Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Steve Aribasoye said there is need for Governor Oyebanji to contest for second term in office by yielding to the clarion call of the residents of the state and commended NURTW members for the modern building.

Ealier, Chairman NURTW in Ekiti State, Chief Joseph Falope known as Oloforo  appealed to the governor to purchase vehicles for members of drivers union in Ekiti state.

Falope appreciated  Governor Oyebanji  for given him opportunity to serve the people, pledging the support of all  members of the union for the Governor beyond his first term in office.
