Oyebanji Hails Council Chair, Prince Ogungbemi For Empowering Ekiti Residents

The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has commended the giant strides of the Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, for empowering 150 Residents in the LCDA with training that would enable them to grow their businesses and lift them from poverty to prosperity.

Oyebanji, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaja Habibat Adubiaro, at the opening ceremony of “Entrepreneurs Empowerment Programme” at the LCDA Secretariat in Ayedun-Ekiti, in partnership with Interweave solutions international (USA), said the Programme will equip the residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate to the global business landscape.

The therefore urged the beneficiaries to embrace the program with an open mind and be willing to step outside their comfort zones.

In his words, “I need to commend the Chairman of this LCDA for his resilience in improving the human capital development of the state which is one of the core pillars of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration. 

“He really impressed me, if he can be doing this to his LCDA, definitely, he’s also developing the State and the country.

“The Programme and Partnership like this are vital towards the realisation of hope.

“I need to sincerely commend the efforts of Ajoni LCDA, for taking the Bull by the horns and for being a reference point for all other local governments here and LCDA in Ekiti state.

“It’s essential that we equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate to the global business landscape.

“This program will challenge the participants to think critically, analyse problems from critical perspectives and conquer Challenges they will encounter in the business world.

“I sincerely urge you to embrace this program with an open mind and be willing to step outside your comfort zone.”

On his part, the Chairman of the LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi highlighted the importance of the training on the Participants as impact of knowledge, education and, record keeping to set up their own businesses.

He said that his aim is to lift the people of Ajoni LCDA from poverty to prosperity hence, the charge to partner with the International agencies, to engage them in training. “We have enlisted about 150 participants that will be trained.

“While we are training them, we are planning to give them education, knowledge, record keeping to set up their own business.

“After the training, they’ll be given micro grants for them to start up their own business.

“Our aim is to lift our people out of poverty to prosperity. When jobs is not available, we devise a means to partner with International agencies, to engage them in training.”

Also, the Cordinator of Interweave solutions International, USA, Ambassador Akinmola Bankole, said the Training is critical for the development of LCDA, while calling on them to be patient with their businesses and be committed.

Present at the Event include: The former Chairman and permanent secretary, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Abejide Adewumi and Emmanuel Babatunde Jegede, SA to the Governor on Community Communication, Mary Omotosho.

Others are royal majesties, The elesun of esun-ekiti, Oba David Ogunsakin, Olutapaji of Itaji-Ekiti, The regent of Ayebode Ekiti, among others.
