NPC Meets With Monarchs, Religious Leaders  For Partnership

The National Population Commission NPC has had a Round table engagement with the traditional and interfaith leaders in advocating for the partnership to improve human capital development through girl child education.

The summit was to improve the knowledge and expand the capacity of the stakeholders on the relationship between girls’ education and population management that evolve from managing fertility rate and improving child survival to equip them to assist in arousing societal consciousness to embrace, promote and support girls’ education, everywhere in Nigeria.

The event was organised by the Commission with the support of the World Bank.

In attendance were; Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and other traditional rulers; His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan and other religious leaders; NPC Chairman, Hon. Nasir Isa kwarra; NPC Federal Commissioners and the Management staff; Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Sen. Ibrahim Oloriegbe; Chairperson, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Oriyomi Onanuga; Country Director World Bank, Shubham Chaudhuri; Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Andrew David Adejoh, other development partners and stakeholders
