The newly installed Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo on Tuesday has urged government at all levels to jointly fund the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
Oguntoyinbo gave the advice when the NOA Director in Ekiti, Mrs Kemi Akomolede and her management team on behalf of the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu paid a courtesy visit to his residence in Oye -Ekiti
Obalodo said with adequate funding of the agency, it would perform its responsibilities of information and Orientation of Nigerians in the current economy and governance in Nigeria.
Chief Oguntoyinbo who was the former director of the agency in Ekiti explained that NOA serves as the bridge between the rural people and the government.
“I want to urge the Federal, state and local governments to fund NOA, to enable the agency carry out its statutory duties.
“NOA serves as a bridge between the people at the grassroot and the governments at all levels.
“Unless the agency is properly funded, it will be difficult to fulfill its obligation to the people and the government,” he said.
Oguntoyinbo said it is very important for government at all levels to have feedback from the people about its various policies and programmes.
Obalodo noted that government needs feedback mechanisms to be able to provide essential services for the people.
Oguntoyinbo described the state director and the management team of NOA as creams of intelligent, capable, oand hard working officers who would lead the agency to a greater height in Ekiti and the nation.
The new Chief promised to make his doors open for any assistance the agency might need in the areas of mobilisation and orientation of the local community to support the government.
Earlier, the State Director of NOA in Ekiti, Mrs Kemi Akomolede congratulated Chief Oguntoyinbo as the newly installed Obalodo of Oye Kingdom.
Akomolede prayed God to give him the wisdom and knowledge to achieve success in his new community assignment. (NAN)
