Inner Wheel Nigeria Presents Award To Ekiti SUBEB Boss

The award was given in recognition of the chairman’s contribution and service to humanity which he demonstrates through his excellent delivery of UBE Programmes as the Executive Chairman of Ekiti SUBEB.

Presenting the award to the executive chairman in his office, the Club Chairman, IWM (Hon) Abimbola Solanke commended the leadership qualities of Professor Akinwumi, especially his passion for service for the development of basic education in the state.

IVM Solanke who is also a member of the state House of Assembly representing Moba Constituency 1 noted that the long years of experience by the SUBEB boss as both educationalist and politician has impacted positively on the lives of many people, including little children of primary school age within and outside the state.

She added that Prof. Akinwumi’s expertise in education management has distinguished him for the award, stressing that his purposive leadership would continue to endear him to his admirers in the academic and political platforms.

In his reaction, the awardee, Prof Akinwumi expressed gratitude to the chairman and all members of the Club for the recognition, adding that it would spur him to render more service to humanity, particularly in the basic education sector.

He said the award would be dedicated to the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji who has continued to encourage the growth of education at all levels through provision of human, financial and material resources to develop the sector.

The Inner Wheel District 913 – Nigeria which is women voluntary organisation is noted for charity work and selfless service among the communities in Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Ondo and Ekiti states.

The club is an affiliate of the Inner Wheel International with branches all over the world.
