Engr. Sunday Makinde, elder brother to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has passed away at the age of 65.
The sad news was confirmed in a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, who disclosed that the elder Makinde died on Friday.
The Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of the Aigbofa Family, Olumuyiwa Makinde, another brother of the deceased, also announced the passing.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passage of my older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, to eternal glory today, Friday, 24th January 2025,” Olumuyiwa stated. “His sudden death occurred at his Ibadan residence at 3:20 am.”
The late Sunday Makinde is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as his children and grandchildren.
