FUOYE VC, Fasina Felicitates  Staff, Varsity Communities At Christmas

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina has lauded members of staff and the University host communities particularly Christians as they celebrate the birth of JESUS CHRIST.

Fasina in a statement by the university Public Relations Officer, Foluso OGUNMODEDE stressed on the need for staff to rededicate themselves to selfless service with a view to making the university attain lofty heights and envy of its contemporaries while urging them to spread love, patience, tolerance, care for one another beyond the festive period. This, according to Fasina would no doubt amplify virtues in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ.

While preaching peace, love, tolerance and dedication with renewed vigour, the  Vice-Chancellor also urged them to catch on the opportunity provided by the birth of Jesus Christ to continue to pray for the reigning peace, love and unity on campus. 

Besides, he called on members of staff to embrace goals and ideas that would further promote the university’s common good with a view to bringing stability to the FUOYE.

Specifically, Fasina charged members of staff of the Christian faith to imbibe lessons of the birth and life of Jesus Christ.

The statement reads: “We must embrace the reason for the season. The birth of Jesus is very unique and significant especially his teachings of love, tolerance and sacrifice.

“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us seize the occasion to spread the love of Christ not only on campus but with others. 

“As children of God let’s show and demonstrate love always. It’s also time we joined hands in prayer with our resolve to do our best to transform our university in accordance to virtues, vision and dream of our founding fathers as a university of innovation and character for national transformation.

“It’s also my prayers that we will be fulfilled in all our different endeavours in this season especially as we prepare for the new year; the year of general election in the country.

“I urge you all to also seize the festive period to pray for peace, unity and prosperity of our university.

“On behalf of my family, I wish members of staff and the host communities especially those of the Christian faith, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.”
