About 500 people have benefitted from a free health outreach programme organized by the former deputy governor of Ekiti state, Prof, Modupe Adelabu, in collaboration with Ado Progressive Union.
The programme was put together by the former deputy governor to appreciate the award bestowed on her by the Ado Progressive Union, APU, thereby giving back to his community.
The free health mission covers the diagnoses and various treatment of diseases ranging from diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, eye problem and many others.
The general secretary of Ado Progressive Union, APU, Prince Toyin Akingbade who said this appreciated the former deputy governor for the gesture. He said the gesture was a sign that Prof. Adelabu is a lover of Ado indigenes and other residents.
The coordinator of the free health mission, Adewole Temitope and the head of the medical team, Dr Julius Olusola Amodu commended the organizers and described the idea as laudable. They said substantial money was invested in the programme to make sure a lot of people could be taken care of considering how expensive it is to have access to quality healthcare.
According to Dr Amodu, the ailments attended to include high blood pressure, diabetes, eye challenges, malaria among others.
A Commissioner in the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, and National treasurer of Ado progressive union (APU) Prince Aladesanmi, said the Programme was open for everybody irrespective of political affiliations.
Some of the beneficiaries, Omoniyi Praise, Omotoso Okeya, Aladesanmi Adelanke Dupe, and others gave thanks to God almighty and appreciated Prof Adelabu and the Ado Progressive Union for the gesture. They described it as rare thing in the society.
