The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, has unveiled a sustainable energy-powered Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in Abuja.
The charging station, located at the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) headquarters, was developed in collaboration with the Electric Motor Vehicle Company (EMVC).
Minister Uche Nnaji described the project as a milestone in Nigeria’s transition to clean energy, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and global trends in electric mobility.
ECN Director-General Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi said the solar-powered fast-charging station supports the country’s clean energy goals and can fully charge an EV in about 30 minutes.
