Ewi of Ado-Ekiti Cautions Community Against Installing Regent   … says Elegemo is not a royal father but priest

In a meeting with all the Chiefs from Odo Ado and the people of Ilegemo in his palace, Oba Adejugbe said the act is contrary to the tradition of Ado-Ekiti and against the law of the land.

The Royal Father pointed out that the Elegemo is a traditional idol worshiper ‘aworo/ abore’ not a traditional Chief or monarch in any way.

He explained further that it is an abomination and aberration for Elegemo to be parading himself as a royal father in Ado Ekiti and in any part of the world.

According to him, traditionally, Elegemo cannot come to the palace like other traditional Chiefs because it is a taboo and cannot see Ewi while on the throne.

Oba Adejugbe noted that the peace of Ado-Ekiti is paramount, saying he will not allow anybody to disrupt the peace because of personal aggrandisement.
