The Vice President of Africa’s Football Supporter’s body stated this while reacting after the match, saying playing against the host country is never an easy feat, as you will have to go up against both the players on the pitch and an overwhelming number of home fans.

“Hence I will like to commend the good conduct of the home fans during and after the game around the 60,000-capacity Alassane Ouattara Stadium where no one was harassed, embarrassed or intimidated as our members and other supporters club members from Nigeria are drumming and dancing while celebrating the Eagles’ victory,” he noted.

Okumagba however, promised good support towards guiding the Super Eagles in its quest for the fourth AFCON glory saying “I must specially commend the team for their spirited and disciplined performance against a very formidable opponent which brightened their chance to qualify for the next round.”

The win against Ivory Coast seemed to have injected renewed optimism among fans, who eagerly anticipate Nigeria’s progression in the competition. Looking ahead, the Super Eagles are set to face Guinea-Bissau in their final group match on the 24th, determining their eventual group stage standing.
