EKSG Continues Dredging Project In Ilawe Ekiti To Prevent Flooding

This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to protect communities from destructive floods.

The project’s movement across critical local governments demonstrates Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to delivering democracy’s benefits to the grassroots and safeguarding the lives and property of Ekiti residents.

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko Ajisafe, emphasized the administration’s dedication to addressing environmental challenges and preventing disasters.

Earlier, the Ekiti State Environmental Protection and Watershed Management  Agency successfully completed the dredging of the Ofin and Elemi waterways in Ado Ekiti, reducing the flood risk and providing relief to residents.

As the dredging project progresses, residents of Ilawe Ekiti and other communities are hopeful that these preventive measures will effectively counteract the anticipated flooding and create a safer environment for all.
