Thursday, 14th December, 2023 was a great moment of celebration and thanksgiving at the Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ado Ekiti, as the Cooperative Multipurpose Society of the Commission celebrated nine of her members upon retirement from active service.
In her opening address, the President of the Cooperative Society, Dr. Mrs Opeyemi Onasanya commended the retirees for their impacts as members and also for their meritorious services to the Commission throughout their 35 years of service.
While remarking, the Administrative Secretary, INEC, Ekiti State, Mr Adedapo Adedeji Aderibigbe Esq, equally commended the retired staff for their enormous contributions to the success recorded by INEC in the State while in active service. Adding that the Commission will soon organize a befitting retirement party for them.
The retirees who were full of joy and happiness expressed their appreciation to God for sparing their lives to witness the day as they sang and danced with all enthusiasm.
The celebrated retired members included Mrs Ayeleso Oluwatoyin, who retired as a Director, Pastor Ayeleso Kehinde OluTope, as Deputy Director, Mrs Kolade Ayodele, as Deputy Director, Mr Adelusi Joshua, as Deputy Director, Mr Dada Emmanuel, as Assistant Director.
Others are Barr. Falade Julius Adekunle, as Deputy Director, Mrs Komolafe Oluwayemisi, an Assistant Director, Mr Aladesiun Femi, Senior Executive Officer and Mr Ossai Joseph, a Senior Executive Officer.
In attendance at the event were the Head of Election and Party Monitoring, Mr Austin Orogbu, Head of ICT/VR, Mrs Titilayo Oderinde and Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr Temitope Akanmu.
