Ekiti Gov, Oyebanji Assures Fayose Market Traders Of Improved Welfare

The State Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the lives and working conditions of informal sectors in the State.

Governor Oyebanji made the statement on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti during a meeting with the leadership of Marketers at the Fayose market Ado, where a road map to addressing the various challenges at the Market were planned. 

The Governor who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Special duties Chief Femi Aduloju thanked the marketers for their support during the last election and for engendering peaceful atmosphere within the market.

He urged them to continue with  the trend, assuring that government will do everything within the state’s available resources to accord their welfare a priority, particularly on security, good environment, as well as training for members of the professional associations within the Market.

He explained that as the second largest information technology center ICT Market in the Country after the Computer Village in Lagos, government was strategizing to attract investors and business of the digital trend to the state through the market.

Oyebanji who acknowledged the quota of the Fayose market to the State’s Gross domestic product said they will henceforth be included in the economic development plans of the state.

Also, the senior special Assistant to the governor on Information technology ICT, Mr. Ayomide Kolade, in his remarks assured the executives that the Ekiti State government will soon roll out programs that will improve their business but urged that they continue to acknowledge the giant strides of the governor despite few days in office.

In their separate remarks the general manager of fayose market, Engr. Gbenga Daniel, PRO phone dealers association Mr. Ademola Awopegba and president GSM Engr. Adepoju Mutiu assured the governor of their continued support as they described him as a true democrat and a governor who truly cares about the welfare of the masses.

They however asked amongst all things for a scheduled visit of the governor to the market for an on the spot assessment of things in the market.

Other requests include provision of security, solar panels, electricity, borehole, toilets, drainage and sponsorship of skill development initiatives for the youths who work in the market.
