EID-EL- MAULUD: Aribasoye Greets Muslims, Solicits Actions Against Tribal, Religious Wars

The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has called for more concerted actions against societal ills for the strides being made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to fruition.

Rt Hon Aribasoye posited that the country would become the real giant of African continent, if Nigerians can coalesce efforts to defeat religious fanaticism, deep-seated tribal sentiment, banditry, insurgency, corruption, kidnapping and other nefarious acts quaking the country’s foundation.

The lawmaker representing Ikole constituency 2, said this in Ado Ekiti, while congratulating the Muslim adherents on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

He described the birth of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) as unique and his exploits in Islamic religion he founded became a strong foundation for advancement of peace and humanitarian services around the world.

Rt Hon. Aribasoye appealed to Muslim faithful to imbibe fully, the doctrines of sacrifice, oneness, piety, humility, generosity and tolerance the life and time of the holy Prophet symbolised, describing this as a remedial action against religious upheavals raging across the globe.

The legislator emphasized  that time has come for all Nigerians to perceive themselves as one indivisible entity in spite of the human barriers posed by religion and politics.

He urged the Muslims to ruminate deeply on the state of the nation, especially its multifaceted challenges to come to full realisation of the expediency for all citizens to embrace unity, rather than stoking the ember of discord, ethnicity, disunity and political acrimony.

“Let me congratulate the Muslim Ummah and all Nigerians for the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, which stands for the birth of the holy Prophet Mohammad(SAW).

“Our Muslim brothers should  learn a  lesson from the life and time of the holy Prophet who sought peace with all humans regardless of creeds, religious beliefs and personalities. He was a friend to all his neighbours and this should be a guiding principle to all Nigerians.

“We have come to a junction in our country’s political trajectory when we should stop playing up religious and ethnic cards. These are dangerous games that have not yielded any dividend to us individually and collectively, so we must all pray for the success of our nation, which remains our strongest heritage.

“Rather than causing division and pervasive disaffection, we must rather pray for the success and survival of our nation under the determined Presidency of President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
