Dangote Cement Appoints Fapohunda as Group Financial Officer

The announcement was made in a corporate filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. (NGX) on Wednesday.

Fapohunda, a finance professional with over 22 years of experience, brings expertise in financial control, risk management, treasury management, investment strategy, and corporate governance.

Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement, Arvind Pathak, expressed confidence in Fapohunda’s ability to drive the company’s financial strategy.

“We believe Dr. Fapohunda’s experience and strategic insight will be vital to Dangote Cement’s ongoing growth and success,” Pathak stated.

Fapohunda holds a Doctorate in Strategic Management from Rome Business School, an MBA in Finance from London Business School, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

His professional affiliations include the Institute of Credit and Risk Management, the Institute of Cost Management Accountants, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Before joining Dangote Cement, he held key leadership positions, including Executive Finance Director (West Africa) at Japan Tobacco International, Finance Director at United Parcel Service (UPS), and Executive Finance Director at British American Tobacco (BAT).

Earlier in his career, he worked in financial advisory at PwC and was part of the Assurance Team at KPMG Professional Services.

Fapohunda has received multiple awards in recognition of his contributions to the finance sector, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in corporate finance.
